Construction: Completion July 2012
Appleton Manor is a very fine moated manor house with huge historical significance. The owners have carefully refurbished the interiors of the house and are remodelling the extensive gardens to a plan by Arne Maynard.
We have been asked to prepare listed planning consent drawings for a new pool and pool house to sit within a yew hedged outdoor room. The manor is listed and the design takes on the materials, profiles and roof pitch of adjacent estate buildings in terms of three elevations. The fourth, poolside, elevation is however fully glazed with eight large pivoting doors. A projecting aluminium nose cone gives shade. The project has planning consent and is under construction.
